
Some schools in Nova Scotia closed due to dump of wintry weather
Some schools in Nova Scotia are closed today as a blast of wintry weather pounds the province.
Winter storm warnings remain in effect for Victoria, Inverness, Antigonish and Pictou counties, as well as northern Colchester County.
Those regions can expect another 10 to 15 centimetres today, bringing total snowfall amounts since the storm started on Sunday to 25 to 40 centimetres. Winds are expected to gust up to 90 kilometres an hour.

All schools in Chignecto Central Regional Centre for Education and Strait Regional Centre for Education are closed today.
There is a two hour delay to the start of school in South Shore Regional Centre for Education.
In Halifax Regional Centre for Education, schools in the following family of schools are closed: Bay View High, Eastern Shore District High, Marine Drive and Musquodoboit Rural High. All other schools will be delayed in opening by two hours.
In Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education, schools in the West Hants area and the school families of Horton, NKEC and Central Kings are closed.
Some schools in Conseil scolaire acadien provincial are also closed.
Due to high winds in the Northumberland Strait, all crossings between Wood Islands, P.E.I. and Caribou, N.S. are cancelled on Monday. The 7:30 a.m. sailing out of Wood Islands and the 8:30 a.m. sailing out of Caribou is also cancelled for Tuesday.
