Additional severe thunderstorms are possible on the Prairies to end the week

The southern Prairies will experience the most active weather across Canada to end the week. Friday will begin with a slow-moving low spinning over southern and central Saskatchewan.
This system is expected to spark a renewed round of thunderstorms across the region. Some of the storms could turn severe across much of southern Saskatchewan and into southeastern Alberta, including the communities of Regina, Assiniboia, and Medicine Hat.
The strongest storms could produce hail 2 cm in diameter, heavy rainfall, and strong wind gusts.
Folks along the Alberta foothills may also get in on the thunderstorm activity on Friday. A few of the storms here could also turn severe, mainly west of Calgary and Lethbridge.
Rainfall totals by this weekend could amount to 30-50 mm for portions of southern Saskatchewan.
