Traditonally sunny and warm regions in the U.S. were treated to a rare snowfall earlier this week.
Parts of Nevada (including Las Vegas) Arizona and California were treated to a rare snowfall this week, causing widespread traffic delays on Thursday.
Several celebrities, including actor Jerry O'Connell, took to social media to voice their disbelief when snow started falling in southern Calfornia.
Some locals say they've never seen it in the area before.
It only lasted a few moments in this part of the U.S., but that was enough to force the temporary closure of at least one highway in north L.A.
Snow continued in Las Vegas, Nevada Thursday as well.
That's following record snowfall in the area on Wednesday.
Some places saw upwards of 35 cm of snow, the most the area had seen in about a decade.
On Friday, snow settled over the desert near Scottsdale, Arizona.
Video posted to Twitter shows a blanket of snow covering cacti in north Scottsdale. Another shows a construction vehicle being used to remove snow from the roads.

A rare winter storm broke records in Arizona this week, shattering the daily snowfall record in Flagstaff on Thursday, according to meteorologists. In Arizona’s lower elevations, snowfall further surprised residents. One Scottsdale resident measured at least 20 cm of snowfall near his home.
