Rest of October to see wet pattern continue in B.C. after weekend fall storm
A weekend fall storm in B.C. has brought some notable wind gust peaks, wave heights and rainfall totals, with more wet weather on the way as October will end on a soggy note
After the remnants of Typhoon Nakri delivered some blustery wind gusts and soaking rains to start the weekend, folks can expect the trend of a wet pattern to continue for the final two weeks of the month.
As for this weekend, the fall storm brought some noteworthy rainfall, wave height and wind gust peaks on Saturday. On Sunday, rain will become less of an issue as the heaviest moisture has subsided for the coast. However, parts of Vancouver Island and Vancouver will be contending with some gusty winds still.

Going forward, a powerful Pacific jet will bring a parade of low-pressure systems for the rest of October.
What remains of fall storm on Sunday
Periods of heavy rain turn will to showers across the South Coast on Sunday, with an additional 5-15 mm for most regions.
As well, winds eased for most of the coast, except for Greater Victoria, where westerly winds pick up close to 70 km/h gusts on Sunday. Windy conditions are also forecast along the beaches of Vancouver, with northwesterly gusts up to 60 km/h expected.
The freezing level remains around 1400 metres for the South Coast, with bursts of snowfall forecast across high-elevation travel routes with the passage of the front.
Expect difficult travel on Sunday on those mountain passes.

South Nomad: 11.6 metres (offshore)
East Dellwood (northwestern Vancouver Island): 8.6 metres
Queen Charlotte Sound: 8 metres
South Brooks (west Vancouver Island): 7.9 metres
La Perouse Bank: (west Vancouver Island): 7.5 metres
Georgia Strait: 3.7 metres
Windy conditions were also recorded on Saturday. Peak wind speeds recorded:
Herbert Island: 108 km/h
Georgia Strait (Sisters Islets): 90 km/h
Comox: 72 km/h
Victoria: 61 km/h
Tofino: 59 km/h

Effingham: 67 mm
West Vancouver: 29 mm
Victoria: 25 mm
Squamish: 25 mm
Downtown Vancouver: 22 mm
A stormy end to October
For the rest of October, above-normal precipitation totals are likely for the Sunshine Coast as the active pattern continues. Vancouver averages 123.9 mm of rain in October and has recorded 46.8 mm so far this month.
Temperatures across most of the province are forecast to remain cooler-than-seasonal normals through the end of the month, with daytime highs more typical of early November.
