Drivers beware: Quick snap into winter as rounds of snow hit the Prairies
This could be the first accumulating snow of the season for some major cities in Alberta and Saskatchewan
Although November has only just begun, two clipper systems are set to deliver snow across parts of the Prairies into Thursday, and again on Friday.
Wet snow can be expected from Edmonton, Alta., to Saskatoon, Sask.

Timing the snow through Friday
On Thursday morning, the clipper system will organize, bringing snow along the Yellowhead Highway from west to east throughout the day. To the south, foothill winds are forecast to strengthen to 60-80 km/h, with the strongest gusts along the immediate foothills.
Calgary a miss for snow as temperature stay warm
Temperatures will hover around 0°C or slightly below along the system's path and farther north, while warm, downsloping winds will keep Calgary, Alta., and southern regions in the double digits.
This won’t be the only clipper of the week, either.
A second system is expected to impact Alberta on Friday, potentially bringing brief snow to Edmonton and southeastern areas. However, uncertainty remains regarding the storm's exact track and snowfall amounts.

Regardless, drivers should stay alert to the changing conditions, especially with this likely being the first dose of snow out on the roads this season.
