Blue Jays and Halloween: Wet, windy and cool weather hits Ontario, Quebec

A wet and windy Friday is in store across Ontario and Quebec, so be sure to keep the umbrella handy and add some extra layers to your Halloween costumes

Rainy and windy conditions are set to impact much of Ontario and Quebec this Friday, just as trick-or-treaters and Blue Jays fans prepare for evening activities.

Southern Ontario can expect lake-effect showers originating from Lake Huron and Georgian Bay throughout the day, though the rain is expected to ease from west to east across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), likely ending just in time for trick-or-treating.

However, rain is forecast to persist in eastern Ontario, from Kingston to Ottawa, as well as in Quebec, with the heaviest rainfall occurring along the St. Lawrence River.

Wind gusts will increase across southern and eastern Ontario and Quebec, reaching 50–70 km/h by the evening.

Possible warm up into November

Saturday is expected to bring cloudy conditions with sunny breaks, a brisk wind, and a chance of showers, particularly southeast of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay. Temperatures will remain cooler than seasonal throughout the weekend, with cloud and sun mixing on Sunday.

Expect fluctuating temperatures are likely into mid-November, but above-seasonal warmth may dominate from November 10–25.
