Investing in attic insulation is a smart way to improve your home’s comfort, reduce energy use, and take advantage of rebates.

The mild fall conditions experienced across most of Canada are expected to be temporary. In Ontario, for example, October has seen mainly sunny skies replacing fall storms so far. Still, as November settles, a return to variable weather patterns and more active conditions is likely, potentially signalling an early shift to winter. This is good news for those eagerly awaiting the ski season, but bad news for anyone denying winter’s approach.

Furnaces won’t be idle for long, making this a great opportunity for homeowners to take advantage of Home Renovation Savings™ from Enbridge Gas and Save on Energy.™ It’s a program designed to help Ontarians make their homes more energy-efficient and comfortable by offering rebates for upgrades like attic insulation.

Since warm air naturally rises, a lot of your home’s heat can escape through the attic if it isn’t properly insulated. Attic insulation also helps prevent other issues, like ice dams—thick ridges of ice that form when heat escapes through the roof and melts snow, which then refreezes and can damage the roof’s edge.

Heat loss is a common problem in many homes, particularly if the attic hasn't been properly sealed or insulated over time. That’s why adding attic insulation is such a smart and practical choice to help retain warmth during the cold months. With proper insulation, your HVAC system won’t need to work as hard to heat and cool your home, and it also helps prevent drafts and air leaks. When your attic is well-insulated, it can make the entire house feel more comfortable and maintain a more consistent temperature, so you can enjoy your living space throughout the year, regardless of the season.

Insulating your attic is a quick and easy upgrade that doesn’t require major renovations or disruptions. If you upgrade your attic insulation, you could be eligible for up to $1,000* in rebates through the Home Renovation Savings program. Better yet, upgrade before Nov. 30, 2025, and you could receive an additional $250 limited-time rebate. Best of all, you don’t need a home energy assessment when you upgrade only your attic insulation, which further simplifies the process. To qualify, you must be an Enbridge Gas customer who primarily heats their home with a natural gas furnace or boiler, or be connected to the Ontario electricity grid and heat your home with electricity, oil, propane, or wood.
